John Ward has been teaching Korean Martial Arts in Morecambe since June 2003.
Since then 12 students have reached the coveted rank of 1st Dahn Black belt. The school now has several more students who are approaching black belt testing and more who are in the process of testing for second Dahn. John currently holds the rank of 4th Dahn in the art of Kuk Sool with both the WKSA and the NKMAA.

Originally known as Kuk Sool Won of Morecambe, Heysham & Lancaster the school now boast over 100 students aged from just 4 years old to a number of “fifty something” adults!
John has been training in the Korean Martial Arts for 18 years and has been a full-time instructor for over 10 years.
His main motivation in starting training was, like many people, to find an enjoyable way to keep fit, to learn to defend himself and his family and to encourage his son Adam, then 5 years old, to train.
Detailed elsewhere on this site are some of the many trophies and awards which John and his students have won over the years, both at home and abroad. However, despite the undoubted successes in tournaments, the school's main focus is to provide good quality, professional training which will be enjoyed by and be of great benefit to virtually anyone prepared to “give it a go”.
Martial Arts training can bring big benefits in a relatively short time. These include increased concentration, improved self-confidence, increased levels of fitness and flexibility.
For children the benefits can be immense. The training will help to improve your child’s self esteem, teach them about teamwork and respect and help them to concentrate in school.
For adults the training offers a great physical fitness programme which really is suitable for all abilities. It is also a fantastic stress buster and the variety of students means that it is also a good social activity.
