FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS OF THE "FRIENDS OF JWSKMA"
On this page we publish details of fundraising events organised by the Friends. Over the past year or so they have organised car boot sales, a summer bar-b-q, raffles, the Kickathon, summer fayre and several other events, which have resulted in over £2000 being raised.
They have also started a tuck shop selling mainly drinks and some snacks in the Dojahng. Profits from this all go to the Friends fundrasing account.
It is important to realise that the money raised at by these activities is used solely for the benefit of all students to enable them and (in the case of Juniors) their parents/carers to attend Kuk Sool and other martial arts events which they might otherwise be unable to participate in.
Funds are used to subsidise the cost of travel to these events, many of which are some distance away, and occasionally it may be used to help to pay for the cost of entry to the events themselves.
These events may include UK, Scottish and European Championships and other competitions which take place in Europe, the USA and possibly even South Korea, the birthplace of Kuk Sool. Other events may include seminars and special training sessions with high ranking Masters. Closer to home there are also plans for days out, quiz nights and a Kids Christmas party.
Their efforts are really appreciated by me and, I hope, by ALL students and parents of Juniors. I realise that everyone has busy lives, but I do hope that you will all do your best, whenever possible, to support and assist in, the events and activities which take place.
