NEW FAMILY CLASS IN CRAG BANK
On Saturday 26th September at 1.30 p.m. we opened a new class in Cragg Bank Village Hall, near Carnforth. This is the beginning of what we intend to be a gradual expansion of our school beyond the Morecambe Dojahng, but which will also help us to improve the facility and add more classes there. This new extra venue  puts our training within easy reach of adults and children in Carnforth, Milnethorpe, Bolton le Sands,Slyne, Hest Bank and all the surrounding areas.

The class takes place each Saturday at 2.00 to 3.00 p.m.
It is a mixed class for all ages including adults and children from 5 years upwards, which is ideal for families who want to do something together. Depending upon which training package new students choose they will be able to make use of our full-time Dojahng in Morecambe as well as attending the local class. This does also work in reverse, in that existing students may wish to attend the Cragg Bank class. However, they should be aware that for some time it is likely to be run as a beginners class, with the emphasis on what the new students need to learn. Obviously this will change as the class develops. If there is suficient demand we may eventually have a separate senior class so adults can train alone.
Future expansion over the coming months may include Lancaster, Garstang and other areas close to Morecambe, as well as further afield. This is made possible by our recent affiliation to the NKMAA who actively encourage schools to grow in this way.

VISIT TO MASTER WOON
Monday 7th August. SBN John along with JKN''s Paul & Angela Prince paid a visit to the UK Director of the NKMAA, Master Zak Woon and his wife Sabum Nim Claire. Whilst there they took part in a Tang Soo Do lesson and at the end of the evening at the request of the Master Woon they performed a brief demonstration of Kuk Sool for the class.
Both sets of instructors and students were imperssed with each others styles. It was very interesting to note the similarities and the differences in the two Korean martial arts.
SBN John was particularly impressed with the students abilities in acrobatices and sparring as well as their excellent etiquette.
In the near  future we hope to have Master Woon as a guest instructor so that we can benefit from his particular style of tuition.

FOUR MORE BLACK BELTS AND ANOTHER TOURNAMENT SUCESS!
After at least four years hard work we are pleased to report that four more students of our school have achieved the rank of 1st degree Black Belt!
Husband and wife, James and Clare Scott, Michael Frill and Connor Prince (whose parents are already Black Belt students) were awarded their Black Belt certificates by World Grandmaster, Kuk Sa Nim during the evening Masters demonstration following the Scottish tournament in May 2009.
During the same event the students saw school owner, SBN John presented with a trophy for 5th position in the schools competition. This was a very close contest and we were only beaten by 7 points for fourth place by Glasgow school.
The new black belts are pictured here with SBN John and Kuk Sa Nim.
Well done all of you!
